About the artist

Jöran Steinhauer is a German singer-songwriter. The musician, who grew up in Bochum in the Ruhr area, Germany, achieved great fame in Latvia in 2013 when his farewell song for the Latvian currency "Paldies Latiņam" became an overnight hit. With his band "Aarzemnieki" he played several concerts and was elected to represent Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

"Aarzemnieki" released their debut album "Visi kopā" in summer 2017 and played concerts all over Europe.

Jöran Steinhauer decided to publish his first songs as a solo artist in 2019. His single "Mans suns ir Letiņš" ("My Dog is Latvian") again became a national success.

This was followed by collaborations with the Japanese artist Masaki Nakagawa, some Italian publications, and an excursion into acting. The investigative TV documentary about the historic Jānis Steinhauers, a Latvian entrepreneur and social reformer, attracted a lot of attention.

In addition to regular activities as a moderator at international events and collaborations with the Goethe Institute, Jöran Steinhauer recorded his first English-language solo album named "Jollytown". The LP has been be released in spring 2022.

In 2023, Jöran Steinhauer launched "LV81", being the first person touring all 81 Latvian cities with special concerts to build community and warmth. In collaboration with sponsors like the German Embassy in Riga and LIDL, admission to these concerts can be free, spreading unity and joy across Latvia. https://lv81.lv/
